Problems with your chimney and stove? Make sure you call us

We recently visited a customer in Dorset who had problems with their chimney and stove, and had been quoted a very high repair quote to fix it.

Step in Dorset Chimney Sweep. It turned out they needed a chemical clean, not replacement stove, liner etc. as quoted. One happy customer, sorted without a huge bill, and left with a safe and effective stove and flue.  Read what our customer had to say:

After 20 years of paying a traditional chimney sweep we were told the chimney to our open fire was now a dangerous fire-risk and would need a chimney liner, log-burner, new mantel & surround at total cost of £6000 – £7000.

We couldn’t afford this and looked around for an alternative.  We found Martin at dorsetchimneysweep.co.uk who uses a modern flail and chemicals to remove many years of the highly flammable tar build-up.

Two visits were necessary, neither makes any mess.

Martin takes great care, taking photographs of each stage so that you can see at first the thick black tarry surface of the inside of the chimney before and the unrecognisably clean smooth surface after the treatments.

From now on one uses smokeless coal nuggets, which are extremely economical, and not kiln-dried logs, which are quite expensive and not essential, (one or two a day to cheer you up maybe).

Not a speck of soot was left in the sitting room and Martin was careful to warn us about safety. A thoroughly brilliant solution to a ghastly problem and I can unhesitatingly recommend him.

So many thanks for giving us the lovely warm fire again; the granddaughters first words were ‘by nice warm fire’.

    Mrs D,  Abbotsbury, Dorset.

For more information contact us today and check to see if you really do need a new chimney liner, stove, the works…  Chances are you don’t.
